Export metadata to Excel


SharePoint Information Organizer has a feature for exporting the metadata and List settings of multiple Lists to an Excel file.

1. To launch SharePoint Information Organizer, please visit Launch SharePoint Information Organizer
   
2. Click on the Export metadata to excel link from the homepage of the SharePoint Information Organizer. On clicking the link, Export metadata to Excel page will appear as shown below,
 
   
3. You can select multiple Lists for which the metadata should be exported.
   
4. If option "All" is selected, all the fields from the selected Lists are exported. If option "Common" is selected only the common fields from the selected Lists are exported. If the user selects "Specific" option, the user can select the desired fields and only those fields will be exported.
   
5. The List Item can be filtered based on the metadata, by selecting the 'Export Item Filter Query' option, and specifiying the field name and field value. The Items which matche the filter criteria will be exported.

Note: This operation can take a few minutes to complete based on the number of Items or Documents present in the selected Lists. Please wait till the process gets over and Excel file is downloaded.
