Delegate Access


You can use the single application database for multiple Dockit SharePoint Manager instances. The user account specified to connect to SQL server must have appropriate permission in database that can be either dbcreator or dbowner roles. To share the single application database among multiple client installs, you need delegate permissions to the users who are using Dockit SharePoint Manager client application to access the application database as a shared resource.

Once you have configured the application, Dockit SharePoint Manager Application will appear as shown below:


Click on icon in the top right corner in App Database. The following will appear as shown below.

Select command in pop up. The following will appear as shown below.

Click for existing user in SQL Server. The following dialog will appear as shown below:

steps:

  • Select the authentication mode (Windows or SQL) for the specified Database to connect SQL Server.
  • Enter User Name to whom you’re granting access to the database.
  • Select ‘db_owner’ in User Role.
  • Click button to add user to database.

click for create a new SQL login in SQL Server and grant the required permissions to access the application database. The following dialog will appear as shown below:

  • Select the authentication mode (Windows or SQL) for the specified Database to connect SQL Server.
  • Enter a User Name.
  • If SQL authentication mode is selected, you need to provide the respective password also.
  • Click button to add user to the application database.


Note: Db_owner privilege is expected one for app database to create and delete tables dynamically at the time of report generation.
